Elite lions team

The Lions represent the ELITE component of our Junior Tigers hockey program and part of the China Hockey Group.

The Greater Bay Lions brand was developed for the following reasons:

  • To provide an opportunity to recruit skilled players from around the region.
  • To provide an opportunity to recruit parents and players most committed to the program.
  • To raise the level of game play competitiveness for all players.
  • To prioritize committed Hong Kong players wishing to participate as a team in Lions regional and global events – NOTE the Lions team practice will limit its enrolment and will only be made available to players who participate as a team in tournaments, leagues, and super series next season.
  • To prioritize our resources and attention  on development programs, emphasizing competitiveness, exposure, and enriching experiences.

Securing full commitment from ice hockey players in a non-traditional market like Hong Kong poses unique challenges but also offers opportunities for growth and development. However, by implementing these strategies, the Greater Bay Lions will build a sustainable hockey culture in Hong Kong, encouraging full commitment from players and parents. The key is to combine passion for the sport with tangible support and opportunities, making ice hockey a viable and rewarding pursuit for athletes in the Region.

Our Elite Hockey programs build on the solid hockey foundations for young players looking to take their game to the next level. Participation is by invitation only, ensuring that all players in each program have the skills required to maximize the program’s innovative curriculum.
